By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman made the list of 22 players nominated for the 2024 FIFA The Best Men’s Attackers.

The Atalanta forward superb form for club and country this year has put him amongst the best attackers in the world.

After scoring the most goals for Nigeria’s senior men’s national team at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire this year, he also made the team of the tournament.

With a hat trick in the final of the UEFA Europa League, he single-handedly lifted his club to the title against in-form Bayer Leverkusen.

The feat, amongst others, ensured that he was ranked amongst the top 20 for the Ballon d’Or, the only African player in the list.

With 11 goals in 31 league games last season, Lookman is on the verge of breaking his personal league record of 13 as he has converted seven goals from 10 games so far this season.

2024 has been a rewarding year for Lookman, who is also in contention for the Africa Men’s Player of the Year award.

With the shortlist expected later on, Lookman got the nominees to nod alongside 21 players.

They include Afif, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Cano, Dovbyk, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Martinez, Lionel Messi, Jamal Musiala, and Rahimi.

Others are Rodrygo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rondon, Bukayo Saka, Luis Suarez, Vinicius Junior, Ole Watkins, Williams, and Yamal Musiala.
