Ademola Lookman’s goal not enough for Atalanta against Como

Nigeria international Ademola Lookman found the net for Atalanta in their 3-2 defeat to Como at the Gewiss Stadium on Tuesday.

Lookman, who started the match on the bench, scored a late penalty in the 98th minute, but it only served as a consolation for the Europa champions.

Atalanta initially took the lead in the 18th minute with a stunning strike from Davide Zappacosta, who placed his shot perfectly into the bottom left corner from outside the box.

However, Como responded strongly, and despite several missed chances in the first half, they turned the tide after the break.

Gabriel Strefezza equalized for Como, assisted by former Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto.

An own goal from Sead Kolašinac put Como ahead, and soon after, Alieu Fadera extended their lead to two goals, leaving Atalanta struggling to recover despite making changes, including bringing on Lookman for Mateo Retegui.

Lookman’s goal marked his second in consecutive Serie A matches, bringing his total goal involvement to three for the season after just two appearances. Despite his efforts, Atalanta could not secure a point from the match.
