Former Nigeria international, Segun Odegbami has urged the Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF) to guide the team from being distracted ahead of their African Cup of Nations, AFCON final clash against Ivory Coast on Sunday.
Jose Peseiro’s side will take on Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Abidjan on Sunday.
Odegbami, who won the AFCON title with the Super Eagles on home soil in 1980 stated that it is important for the NFF to weave some protective net around the team.
“The NFF should not allow any kind of distractions around the team in the next couple of days before the match.
“Let us allow the boys to concentrate and focus hard on the task at hand. No frivolous visits to the team camp should be allowed,” he advised.
The final match will be decided at the Alhassan Outarra Stadium in Abidjan on Sunday by 9pm Nigeria time.
