Afcon 2023: Ola Aina exposes gaming addiction in Nigeria camp

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has offered a revealing glimpse into the Super Eagles’ off-field downtime activities.
The Super Eagles had secured a spot in the Round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), displaying an undefeated performances in their three-match group stage campaign.
Amidst the on-field progress, the full-back jokingly expressed concern over what he calls an “obsession” within the squad.
As the players sought relaxation, gaming became the squad’s preferred avenue to unwind.
Aina documented the unfolding scenes on Instagram stories, capturing teammates Ademola Lookman, Semi Ajayi, Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey engrossed in a multiplayer game in their respective rooms.
Bassey’s particularly animated Call of Duty session was caught on tape, showcasing the extremes to which the players were drawn into the gaming world.
“This is a serious addiction,” he captioned one of the stories. “I am going to start playing games now as well.
“I have been hearing you all screaming down the corridor; this is an addiction. I swear this is an addiction; they don’t blink, they don’t blink.”
