AFCON 2023: ‘We have to do better’ – Jose Peseiro assures improvement vs Angola

Head Coach of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro has assured that his team will put up an improved performance when they take on Angola in the quarterfinal of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles saw off five-time African champions Cameroon in the second round showdown thanks to a brace from Ademola Lookman as the three-time Afcon winners earned more confidence from Nigerians.
Peseiro took to social media to hail his team’s strong mentality in win over the Central Africans, while assuring better showing in the quarterfinal challenge against the South Africans.
“Against Cameroon, we got an excellent win, in yet another game without conceding a goal and where our boys were huge,” The Portuguese wrote on X.
“Great spirit and humility!Once again they did Nigeria proud. Friday against Angola, we’ll have to be even better if we want to win a place in the semi-finals.”
The Friday encounter will take place at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny by 6pm Nigerian time.
