Afcon 2023: Roger Boli names four best performing Super Eagles players so far

Retired France U21 striker has singled some members of Nigeria’s Super Eagles with exceptional performances at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON in Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles have played four games at the ongoing  tournament scoring four goals and conceded just once.

Jose Peseiro’s men have put up scintillating performance against African heavyweights in Ivory Coast and Cameroon.

Boli attributed their gradual growth at the tournament singled our the defenders as reason for the team’s successes, listing William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey and Ola Aina.

“In the other teams, I like the collective strength of Nigeria, especially the central defence, which has not conceded many goals. Ekong, Ajayi, Bassey, and also Aina, who does a great job on the pitch,” he said.

The three times AFCON champions will need same mentality when they take on Angola on Friday in the quarterfinal clash.
