Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala could see her dazzling stint with Barcelona come to an end in the coming days ahead of a move to an unnamed National Women Soccer League outfit, NigeriaFootball.ng can authoritatively report.

Insiders informed NigeriaFootball.ng that the 29-year-old, who was part of Nigeria roster at the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, had came to Spain in February 2019 and is now set to leave after five-year.

However, the 2022 Spanish Liga joint-topscorer on 19 goals, who has been the Catalan club’s top scorer in the past three seasons is displeased by her limited playing time this term, having started thrice in 14 matches. Amidst all, the two-time Ballon d’Or nominee still managed to score eight times.

With the Nigerian’s contract expiring in June, the reigning Africa Women’s Player of the Year is keen to find playing time elsewhere, and with no talks for a contract extension, Barca are hoping to profit from her sale this winter.

According to Spanish news outlets, Oshoala did not make the traveling squad to Seville for Sunday’s clash with Real Betis as Barca are set to reap a fee in region of $163,000 from an unnamed NWSL side for the Nigerian attacker.

A reliable club source, has also disclosed that Oshoala had her last training with the Spanish side on Saturday and she’s already had her bags packed for the immediate move to the US expected later this coming week.

During her five-year stint, Oshoala scored 107 goals in 149 appearances for Barcelona and she will aim to replicate her clinical form with her new club when the new NWSL season kicks off on March 16.
