South African U-17 Women’s national team coach Ntombifuthi Khumalo remains resolute despite the challenging task of overturning a 3-1 deficit against Nigeria’s Flamingos in their U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier.
While acknowledging the uphill battle ahead, Coach Khumalo expressed optimism about her team’s chances.
“It’s not going to be an easy game for us, but we will see how it goes,” she stated in an interview with Ademola Victor TV.
With no injuries affecting her squad and a positive team spirit, Khumalo believes the Bantwana have what it takes to make a comeback.
“We need to try our best to come back because the race is still on. It’s up to us to come stronger in the second leg,” she added.
The crucial second leg of the qualifier is scheduled for today at 4 pm at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, where the Bantwana will aim to overcome the deficit and keep their World Cup dreams alive.
