Bendel Insurance confident of ending Rivers United’s unbeaten NPFL run

Bendel Insurance technical adviser Kennedy Boboye says his side are ready to end Rivers United’s unbeaten start to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season when the teams meet on Sunday, October 25.
The Benin Arsenals will host the league leaders at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City in their Matchday 10 fixture.
Rivers United are the only team yet to lose in the NPFL this season, but Boboye believes Bendel Insurance can take advantage of home support and claim all three points.
“We are ready for Rivers United on Sunday, October 25. We know them, and they know our strength. This time, they won’t go back with any point. We are aiming for maximum points,” Boboye told the club’s media.
The meetings between the two sides have generally been closely fought, with previous encounters producing draws or narrow victories.
Their first meeting in Benin during the 2025/26 season ended goalless, and Boboye acknowledges the challenge presented by the unbeaten visitors.
“We respect them, but they can’t intimidate us at our fortress. Our team is in good shape despite some injury concerns. I believe we are good to go,” he added.
Bendel Insurance will be seeking to use their home advantage to inflict Rivers United’s first defeat of the campaign and improve their position in the league standings.
