Nigeria international Victor Boniface has expressed his delight at completing the German football season with a DFL Supercup victory, adding to Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga and DFB Pokal triumphs from last season.
The 23-year-old striker played a key role as Bayer Leverkusen continued their strong form against VfB Stuttgart. Boniface scored the opener in a match that saw Leverkusen win 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in regular time on Saturday night.
With this win, Die Werkself have started the new season on a high note and extended their impressive 43-match unbeaten home run.
