CSKA Coach Viktor Gancharenko Praises Ahmed Musa's Impact in Arsenal Rout

CSKA Moscow’s manager, Viktor Gancharenko, has lauded the contribution of Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa in his team’s resounding 6-0 victory over Arsenal Tula in a Russia Premier League clash on Sunday. Musa, currently on loan from former English Premier League champions Leicester City, notched a brace during the encounter. The 25-year-old opened the scoring in the 11th minute and sealed the emphatic win just four minutes into the second half.

Gancharenko acknowledged the significance of Musa’s two quick goals, which forced Arsenal Tula to adopt a more open approach. However, he admitted that his team did not maintain complete control over the game. “We carried out quick attacks, delivering the ball behind the defenders, but there were moments when Arsenal had an advantage, and I did not like that,” Gancharenko stated during the post-match press conference.

The CSKA Moscow coach also praised the lively performances of Musa and fellow striker Chalov, stating, “They played vividly. You can say they played for the fans. The weather was perfect for football, with an excellent field and a terrific atmosphere.”

Musa, who had previously scored a brace in a league match against Krasnodar two weeks ago, has now found the back of the net five times in ten league games for CSKA Moscow. This return to form will undoubtedly please Nigeria’s head coach, Gernot Rohr, who considers Musa a key player for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Nigeria will face Croatia, Iceland, and Argentina in the challenging group stage.

Musa’s impressive performances in recent games demonstrate his ability to overcome the struggles he faced during the first half of the season at Leicester City. As he continues to shine on the pitch, Musa’s confidence and form will undoubtedly make him a valuable asset for both CSKA Moscow and the Nigerian national team.
