Cyril Dessers inspires 10-man Rangers to comeback win over Dundee United

Nigerian striker, Cyril Dessers registered his fifth goal of the Scottish Premier League to help Rangers made a 3-1 comeback win over Dundee United on Saturday.
The Super Eagles’ forward was handed a starting berth in the match decided in front of a packed Ibrox Stadium as the visitors caused an early scare with opening goal.
Amadou Bakayoko scored for Dundee in the fifth minutes after a brilliant team build up to the goal.
Dessers even the score line with a sublime finish in the 15th minutes for fifth goal in 13 games before Rangers’ captain, James Tavernier handed the hosts the lead from the spot.
Abdallah Sima stretched the lead for Rangers in the 34th minutes heading home a cross from Tavernier.
The hosts were to retire to the dressing room with less worries but would have much to deal with as Jose Cifuentes was sent off for a rash challenge on Bakayoko.
Dundee tried to make it the numerical advantage work with much pressure on the hosts but Rangers’ defense marshalled by another Nigerian in Leon Balogun formed a strong shield to give Manager Phillipe Clement his 11th unbeaten win since took over the reign of the club.
Rangers have also cut the lead of Celtic at the top of the log to five points as they will be heading to the last group stage of Europa League against Real Betis on Thursday with confidence.
