The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Nigerian football legend Daniel Amokachi to head a five-member Technical Study Group (TSG) for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Amokachi, a former Super Eagles forward and coach, will be joined by top football minds including Walter Steenbok (South Africa), Mohamed Magassouba (Mali), and international scouts Romain Albaric (France) and Bennard Yao Kumordzi (Ghana).
The group will be tasked with analyzing tactical trends, player performances, and team strategies throughout the tournament.
Their findings will be presented during a media briefing scheduled for Sunday, May 11, at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.
CAF says the TSG’s insights will play a critical role in technical reporting and development across African youth football, as well as spotlighting emerging talents from the continent.
The U20 AFCON serves as a crucial platform for scouting future stars and shaping the tactical direction of African football at the youth level.
