Remo Stars’ head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has expressed his satisfaction after guiding his side to a convincing victory over Enyimba FC on Thursday in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture in Ikenne.

The Sky Blues Stars secured a 2-0 win, with goals from Olamilekan Adedayo and Samson Olasupo, which gave them the crucial three points against the People’s Elephants.

Ogunmodede acknowledged the challenge posed by Enyimba, citing the club’s stature and the quality of their players. He was pleased that his team rose to the occasion and delivered the performance he expected.

“It’s one of the performances I required from my players, playing against Enyimba, one of the biggest clubs in Nigeria and on the continent,” Ogunmodede told Remo Stars media.

“With a top coach like Stanley Eguma, I knew they would come out fighting for a continental ticket. They came with a strong fight, but at the same time, we needed the victory. Given that, you could expect how the match would unfold.”

The coach was happy that the match lived up to expectations and highlighted the importance of the win in maintaining their lead at the top of the table.

“The most important thing is that we were able to get the maximum points from the game and extend our points gap on the log.”

Following the win, Remo Stars have increased their lead to eight points, staying top of the NPFL standings with 60 points from 30 matches.
