Nigeria midfielder, Deborah Abiodun scored a goal as her American side, the University of Pittsburgh secured a 3-0 win over Memphis on Sunday night.
The win ensured her team progressed to the quarter-final of the 2023 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.
Abiodun’s national teammate, Onyi Echegini also scored for Florida State University (FSU) during their match.
FSU recorded a 5-0 win over Texas scoring three goals within the first 20 minutes of play.
Two goals in the second half rounded off a five-star display from the top-ranked team.
Abiodun and Echegini will meet again in the quarter-final of the 2023 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament on a yet-to-be-confirmed date.
The two teams have met twice this season during the regular season and playoffs.
In the two games, FSU has come up tops with victories en route to winning the title.
They will hope to extend their winning streak over the Pitts Panthers.
