Defense:

Ruthless Ivorian start

Ivory Coast W imposed themselves immediately, and the breakthrough came within seven minutes. Elloh, alert and sharp in the final third, capitalised on early pressure to give her side a 1-0 lead, settling any opening-night nerves.

Face-to-face:

Konan Akissi then seized control of the tie with two goals in nine minutes. Her first, on 14 minutes, doubled the advantage as Burkina Faso struggled to cope with Ivory Coast’s movement and tempo in the attacking third. By the 23rd minute, it was 3-0, Konan Akissi again on target to punish hesitant defending and give the Ivorians a commanding cushion.
