Fenerbahce have FIFA transfer ban lifted after Youssef En-Nesyri payment

Fenerbahce say their FIFA-imposed transfer ban has been lifted after the Turkish club settled an outstanding payment linked to former striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

The club announced on Thursday that the restriction, imposed last week, had been removed. The ban would have prevented Fenerbahce from registering new signings during three transfer windows.

The case arose after Fenerbahce failed to pay one of the instalments agreed with Sevilla for En-Nesyri’s transfer. The Morocco international joined the Turkish club in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth 19.5m euros.

Sevilla had requested payment of the latest instalment before its scheduled deadline, leading to FIFA’s decision to impose the sanction.

Fenerbahce had previously said the punishment was temporary and would be cancelled once the outstanding amount was paid. Following confirmation that the payment had been made, the club will be able to sign players without restrictions from January.

En-Nesyri spent a season and a half at Fenerbahce, from summer 2024 until winter 2026. He made 79 appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals and providing eight assists.

The striker left during the most recent winter transfer window to join Al-Ittihad. The transfer fee was reported by the media to be 15m euros.
