Flamurtari FC snap up Nigerian forward Chigozie Ani on free transfer from KF Trepca

Flamurtari FC have signed Nigeria striker Chigozie Ani from KF Trepca on a free transfer, adding the 22-year-old centre-forward to their squad ahead of the new Kategoria e Pare campaign.
Ani, who stands at 1.88m and plays primarily through the middle, moves to the Albanian club after a spell in Kosovo with Trepca. The deal sees him join Flamurtari without a transfer fee, following his departure from the Kosovar side this summer.
Capable of using both feet, Ani has built a reputation as a central attacking option who can lead the line. During his time in Europe so far he has experienced different footballing environments, having previously played in the Czech Republic before switching to Kosovo.
Before joining Trepca in 2023, Ani spent time with Motorlet Prague, also arriving there on a free transfer after leaving Nigerian outfit Dakkada FC earlier that year. His move to Albania marks the latest step in a career that has already taken him from the Nigerian league to Central and then South-Eastern Europe.
Across his senior career he has featured in league and cup competitions in Nigeria, the Czech Republic and Kosovo, registering minutes in domestic cups as well as top-flight and second-tier leagues. Those appearances have given him experience of varied tactical systems and physical styles of play.
Ani officially joined Flamurtari on 30 July 2026 and will now compete for a place in the attack as the Vlore-based club prepare for the upcoming Kategoria e Pare season.
