Ikorodu City beat Kwara United as Niger Tornadoes are held in NPFL

Ikorodu City moved up to fifth in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after a 2-0 win over Kwara United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, on Saturday.

Farouk Salami gave the hosts an early lead, scoring after only two minutes. Ikechukwu Junior added a second shortly before half-time to secure all three points for Ikorodu City.

The result took the Oga Boys to 12 points from eight matches. They are now fifth in the table, while Kwara United remain 10th with the same number of points and games played.

Kwara United’s failure to score means they remain the only side yet to find the net away from home in the NPFL this season.

In the other Matchday Eight fixture played on Saturday, 10-man Ranchers Bees held Niger Tornadoes to a goalless draw.

The remaining Matchday Eight matches are scheduled to take place at venues across the country on Sunday.
