Juventus agree loan-to-buy deal for Paris St-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani

Juventus have reached a full agreement with Paris St-Germain to sign France forward Randal Kolo Muani in one of the headline moves of the summer transfer window, after prolonged and at times fragile negotiations between the clubs.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus will pay €38m for Kolo Muani, with a further €12m available in bonuses, in a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy. The overall value of the transfer could therefore rise to €50m.

French outlets had earlier reported the agreement was already in place, with the player expected to leave Paris within 48 hours to undergo a medical and sign his contract with the Italian club.

Conditional obligation to buy

All parties involved have confirmed that the structure of the agreement is a loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. However, Sky Sport Italia reports that this clause will only become active if Juventus qualify for one of UEFA’s club competitions next season, rather than being tied exclusively to Champions League qualification as initially discussed.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has detailed the financial framework, stating that the basic fee of €38m covers both the loan and the subsequent permanent transfer, with performance-related add-ons potentially taking the total close to €50m.

Kolo Muani is expected to sign a five-year contract in Turin. His salary is reported to be €5.5m per season, plus up to €1.5m in bonuses linked to individual and team performance.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has indicated only that the value of the operation exceeds €43m, while fellow Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has echoed suggestions that the overall package could reach €50m, adding that part of the bonus structure is based on targets considered difficult to achieve.

From record PSG outlay to Juventus move

Paris St-Germain signed Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 for a fee of €95m, making him one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.

However, the France international struggled to live up to expectations at the Parc des Princes and was unable to establish himself as a consistent decisive presence in attack.

He subsequently left PSG on loan to join Juventus for six months in 2025, before spending last season at Tottenham Hotspur, again on a temporary deal.

Kolo Muani’s latest move now gives Juventus an additional option in the forward line, while offering the 25-year-old a fresh attempt to relaunch his career at one of Europe’s leading clubs under a long-term agreement, subject to the activation of the purchase obligation through European qualification.
