Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan: Reading striker joins AC Horsens in Danish Superliga move

AC Horsens have completed the signing of Nigerian forward Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan from Reading, with the move subject to the granting of work and residence permits.

The 23-year-old, who was born in Benin City, ends a long association with Reading to join the newly promoted Danish Superliga club for an undisclosed fee.

A graduate of the Reading Academy, Ehibhatiomhan progressed through the youth system before making his senior debut in August 2021, when he featured in a Carabao Cup tie against Swansea City.

The striker leaves the Select Car Leasing Stadium having scored 27 goals in 139 appearances for the Royals, reaching double figures for goals in two of the last three campaigns.

Breakthrough campaign and award recognition

Ehibhatiomhan enjoyed the most productive season of his career in 2025-26, finishing the campaign with 11 goals in all competitions.

His form was recognised in March, when he was named League One Player of the Month after a series of decisive performances.

During that period he scored important goals against Luton Town and Burton Albion, including the first hat-trick of his professional career in a standout display at Kenilworth Road.

The versatile attacker, capable of operating across the forward line, will wear the number 11 shirt for AC Horsens in the 2026-27 season.

New chapter in Denmark

AC Horsens, who are back in the Danish top flight this term, began their Superliga campaign with a 1-1 draw against FC Nordsjælland.

Ehibhatiomhan’s arrival is intended to bolster the attacking options of the Jutland club as they look to establish themselves following promotion.

Details of the transfer fee have not been disclosed, and the deal will be finalised once the necessary paperwork for his move to Denmark is approved.
