Michael Adedokun: Nigeria midfielder joins CF Montreal

CF Montreal announced that it has signed midfielder Michael Adedokun to a contract through the 2025 season.

The deal also includes three option years in 2026, 2027 and 2028.

Adedokun was selected by CF Montreal 13th overall in the first round of the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft on December 20.

“We are pleased to have Michael officially join the group,” said CF Montreal President and CEO Gabriel Gervais.

“He is a dynamic attacking midfielder with a strong goal-scoring instinct, 1-on-1 skills, and good creativity in the final third. We believe he is ready to take the next step in his career as he continues to progress with us. I would also like to congratulate him on winning the MAC Hermann Trophy.”

The Eruwa, Nigeria native won the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy as the NCAA Division I player of the year on Friday.

Adedokun led the Ohio State Buckeyes with 11 goals and 11 assists last season and helped his team win the 2024 Big Ten Tournament.

He was also named a First Team All-Big Ten selection.

CF Montreal signs midfielder Adedokun to a contract for the 2025 season, with option years in 2026, 2027, and 2028.

Adedokun led the Buckeyes and the Big Ten Conference with 33 points, 11 goals, and 11 assists as Ohio State advanced to the College Cup semifinals.

Adedokun, the 2024 Big Ten Midfielder of the Year, paced the Buckeyes to a 16-2-4 record.
