NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau and billionaire businessman Hon. Kunle Soname have rewarded the Flamingos with N6 million naira following their impressive 4-0 victory over Algeria.

The Nigerian U17 Women’s National Team, known as the Flamingos, has made a significant advancement towards qualifying for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup by achieving a commanding 4-0 win against the Algerian team, the Fennecs, in the first leg of their qualifying match.

This remarkable achievement has garnered attention, prompting the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to recognize the young players with a substantial reward.

In the aftermath of the match, NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau announced a financial gift of N6,000,000 (Six Million Naira) for the team.

Gusau detailed the distribution of the reward, indicating that N2,000,000 was provided by the NFF, while the additional N4,000,000 was generously donated by Hon. Kunle Soname.

This initiative highlights the increasing support for women’s football in Nigeria, as influential figures acknowledge the skill and commitment of these young athletes.

In his address to the team, Gusau encouraged the Flamingos to maintain their momentum as they prepare for the second leg of the qualifying match in Algiers.

He stressed the necessity of playing with fervor and resolve, with the goal of securing Nigeria’s spot in the World Cup.

The combination of the NFF President’s motivational speech and the financial incentive serves to inspire the team, affirming that their efforts and dedication are being acknowledged and valued.
