Moses Bako hails Jagunmolu Queens, commends Kwara United Queens after thrilling final

Women’s football advocate and President of Nigeria Amateur Women Football Association (NAWFA) and CEO of Soccer Queens, Moses Nagogo Bako, has praised Jagunmolu Queens for emerging champions of the Kwara First Lady Pre-Season Women’s Championship, while also commending Kwara United Queens for their outstanding performance in the competition.
Jagunmolu Queens clinched the title after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Kwara United Queens following a goalless draw in regulation time, capping off an intense and highly competitive final.
Reacting to the outcome, Bako who is also the Chief Organiser of the tournament, lauded the champions for their resilience and composure under pressure, describing their triumph as well-deserved after a hard-fought campaign.
“Jagunmolu Queens showed great mental strength and discipline to come through in such a tense final. They have proven themselves worthy champions,” he said.
While acknowledging the victory of Jagunmolu Queens, Bako reserved special praise for Kwara United Queens, whose journey to the final stood out as one of the major highlights of the tournament.
He noted that reaching the final of such a competitive championship, despite being a newly assembled team, is a remarkable achievement and a strong indication of the team’s potential.
“Kudos to Kwara United Queens for an inspiring and commendable performance. Building a team in less than two weeks and reaching the final is no small feat. It reflects strong leadership, proper planning, and a clear vision,” Bako stated.
Throughout the tournament, Kwara United Queens displayed resilience, tactical discipline, and continuous improvement, earning admiration from fans and observers alike. Their performances, from the group stages to the final, showcased a team growing in confidence and cohesion with each match.
