Nigeria striker Uchenna Kanu scores first competitive goal for Racing Louisville

Nigeria forward, Uchenna Kanu ended her competitive goal drought for American NWSL side, Racing Louisville in the early hours of Thursday.
The former Linkopings centre forward scored a goal as Racing Louisville defeated Chicago Red Star 2-0 in the NWSL Challenge Cup.
A minute before the halftime break, Kanu scored the first goal of the encounter at the SeatGeek Stadium, Bridgeview, Illinois.
She received a pass from Paige Monaghan inside the box before hitting a right-footed shot into the top corner of the net.
The goal was Kanu’s first for Racing Louisville after nine games in all competitions this season.
Parker Goins doubled the lead for Racing in the 71st minute as she was at the end of Savanna Demelo’s cross before heading the ball into the net.
Kanu saw 63 minutes of action before she was replaced by Parker Goins after receiving a yellow card in the 62nd minute.
Racing Louisville returned to winning ways after last weekend’s 2-1 loss to North Carolina Courage in the league.
The win moved the team to the top of the NWSL Challenge Cup Central log with a maximum of six points from two games.
Kanu joined Racing ahead of the 2023 league season on a record deal after scoring 25 goals in 46 games for Swedish Dammalsvenskan side, Linkopings FC.
