Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club, Gbenga Ogunbote believed his side will soon be back to winning matches in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
Ogunbote was speaking after his side’s Southwest derby defeat to Sunshine Stars on Wednesday in Akure as Moses Omoduemuke’s goal earned the Owena Whales a slim win at the match.
The defeat has stretched the Oluyole Warriors’ winless streak to three games and Ogunbote has called for calm as he’s working on returning the club back to winning mood.
“The game has been played, won and lost, there is nothing we want to describe in it other than to take the positives from it and then move ahead,” Ogunbote told media.
“We will quickly pick our pieces. We thought we could pick at least a point here and use it to console ourselves for the two points we dropped at home, but unfortunately, we were unable to do that.
“We still have to keep fighting, we go home to return back to winning ways.”
The experienced tactician who has handled Enyimba FC, Enugu Rangers and Lobi Stars in the past admitted that early injuries suffered by key members of the team also culminated to his team’s defeat.
Ogunbote and Shooting Stars will hope to bounce back to winning games on Sunday when they host Katsina United in Ibadan.
