NWFL Premiership MD 10 wrap: Benue Queens end barren run as Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers maintain unbeaten streaks

The 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership reaches Matchday 10 with eight games across the country as teams continue their quest for glory and redemption.
After nine straight losses, debutant, Benue Queens finally picked their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against Delta Queens in Lafia.
Destiny Itobor thought she had won the match for the travelers with a 12th-minute goal, but Joy Ikyagh leveled the scoreline for Benue Queens in the 61st minute.
In Benin City, Edo Queens stretched their unbeaten record in the league this season to 10 as goals from Mary Mamudu and Esther Inyang lifted Moses Aduku’s side to a 2-0 win over Heartland Queens.
They have recorded eight wins and two draws from their 10 games so far in the campaign.
In Yenegoa, Bayelsa Queens followed suit with their eighth win of the season as Kindness Ifeanyi, Delight Isaac, and Doshima Taarnum found the back of the net for the Prosperity Girls.
Ogbonda Whyte’s side has not lost any league game this season, with eight wins and two draws.
In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels also picked their eighth win of the season as goals from Titilayo Aweda and Mary Moses ensured that the Jewels of Rivers stretched their unbeaten record to 10 matches with eight wins and two draws.
The second match, which took place in Lafia between Nasarawa Amazons and Abia Angels, ended 2-0 in favor of the Solid Babes.
Janet Akekeromowei and Chisom Chima scored two second-half goals to propel Christopher Danjuma’s side to their seventh win of the campaign.
In Ibadan, Olasubomi Ogundele scored her second goal of the season to help Remo Stars Ladies to a 1-0 victory over Ekiti Queens as the Sky Blue Ladies secured their eighth win of the season.
A brace from Opeyemi Ajakaye and one from Oluwakemi Adegbuyi lifted FC Robo Queens to a 3-1 success against Adamawa Queens away from home.
In Anyingba, Confluence Queens and Dannaz Ladies settled for a 0-0 draw, ending the Lagos-based side’s four straight losses.
The league will continue with Matchday 11 next week as teams continue their quest to win the league and maintain their league status.
