OFFICIAL: Jennifer Echegini completes move to PSG from Juventus

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

French women’s top-flight side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has announced the arrival of Nigerian international striker Jennifer Echegini to their women’s team.

Echegini has signed a contract with the Parisian club until June 2027.

Echegini joins PSG from Italian Serie A giants Juventus, where she scored 10 goals in 14 league games last season. She had spent less than a year with the Old Ladies, making a significant impact during her short stint.

Prior to her move to Juventus, Echegini played for Florida State University (FSU) in the United States, where she studied Management Studies and graduated in 2023.

During her time at FSU, she won numerous accolades, including the Most Valuable Player in the ACC, Offensive Player of the Year, and a spot on the All American First Team. She also won the prestigious Honda Sports Award for women’s soccer after a successful season with the Seminoles.

Echegini was part of the Super Falcons squad that reached the Round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, outperforming Olympic champions Canada.

As the 2024 Paris Olympics approach, Echegini is expected to play a major role for the Super Falcons at the women’s football event in France.
