Real Betis has officially confirmed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Kalu Chinyere, securing her services with a contract until 2026.
The defensive midfielder, who has previously played for top Nigerian clubs such as Martins White Dove FC, Osun Babes FC, Rivers Angels FC, and Nasarawa Amazons FC, brings valuable experience to the Verdiblanca club.
Chinyere, a former U-17 and U-20 international for Nigeria, notably participated in the 2022 U-20 World Cup. Last season, she stood out for Nasarawa Amazons, helping the team reach the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six.
With her arrival at Real Betis, Kalu joins a growing contingent of Nigerian players in Spain’s top flight.
She follows in the footsteps of players like Rinsola Babajide, who previously played for Betis, and others such as Rasheedat Ajibade (Atletico Madrid), Gift Monday (Costa Adeje Tenerife), and Edna Imade (Granada).
This move further strengthens the connection between Nigerian talents and the Spanish league, as they continue to make an impact on the global stage.
