Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers: Super Falcons to face Ethiopia or Chad in second round

Nigeria’s senior women’s National team will lock horns with Ethiopia or Chad in its route to Paris 2024 Olympics Women’s football Qualifiers.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Tuesday conducted the draw for the Qualifiers, with Super Falcons as one of the top seven ranked teams drawn bye in the first round of the qualifying series.
The nine-time African champions will face the winner of the first round game between Ethiopia and Chad scheduled to hold from July 10 to 18, 2023.
The Second Round game where Randy Waldrum’s side will join the Qualifiers will take place from October 23 to 31, 2023.
Eight teams will scale through to Third Round, while four heading to the Fourth Round where the two African representatives at the women’s football event of the Olympics will emerge.
The most successful women’s football team in Africa has not qualified for the last three Olympics after back-to-back appearances in 2004 (Athens, Greece), and 2008 (Beijing, China).
This time, the African giants will be bidding to break the jinx of missing out on the women’s football event at the Olympics is scheduled for July 25 to August 10, 2024.
