Paul Onuachu earns FIFA Puskas Award nomination

Nigeria forward, Paul Onuachu’s goal for Turkish side, Trabzonspor was amongst the 11 goals nominated for the 2024 FIFA Puskas Award.

The wonderfully converted strike against Konyaspor on November 10, 2023 during a league encounter made the cut.

He received a cross inside the box and back flipped the ball into the net in flight with his back at the ball in a fantastic way.

He joined Ademola Lookman, William Troost Ekong, and Asisat Oshoala on the list of Nigerian players nominated for FIFA The Best Awards.

The Super Eagles forward goal will contest with 10 other goals for the award.

They include Al Haydos (Qatar vs China), Antonis (Melbourne City vs Western Sydney Wanderers), Benzia (Algeria vs South Africa), Bou (Lanus vs Tigres), and Chirinos (Costa Rica vs Honduras).

Others are Dimarco (Inter Milan vs Frosinone), Garnacho (Everton vs Manchester United), Muhammed Kudus (Westham vs Freiburg), Omedi (KCCA vs Kitara), and Philogene (Rotherham United vs Hull City).
