Piers Morgan dismisses Jorge Jesus comments over Cristiano Ronaldo

Piers Morgan has branded Jorge Jesus’ comments about Cristiano Ronaldo “bullsht” after the Portugal captain left the national team’s camp in Denmark on Wednesday.
The British broadcaster, who is known for his close relationship with Ronaldo, was responding to remarks made by Portugal manager Jesus at a news conference before the match against Denmark. Jesus said there was no problem between him and the forward.
Morgan posted on social media: “Nonsense. Factcheck: bullsht.”
He later reacted to a report in The Times which said Ronaldo had left the camp after being told that the team’s needs were more important than his personal interests.
The report added that the departure followed emergency discussions intended to resolve the disagreement between Ronaldo and Jesus.
Morgan rejected that explanation, writing: “That’s not why he walked out, as will become clear when he talks about it.”
Ronaldo’s future with Portugal
A further report by O Jogo claimed Ronaldo had made a final decision not to return to the Portugal squad, with the decision described as irreversible.
According to the newspaper, Portugal’s match against Wales at Estadio Jose Alvalade was the final occasion on which Ronaldo represented his country. That would bring an end to his international career after years of achievements and records.
Ronaldo confirmed his departure from the Portugal camp on Wednesday evening, one day before the match, after a conversation with Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proenca.
The Al Nassr striker said in a statement posted on his official social media accounts: “After the coach’s news conference, and following a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, I decided to leave the national team’s camp.”
He added: “At the right time, I will tell all Portuguese people the truth about the reasons that led me to leave the national team, a team to which I have always devoted myself.”
Ronaldo ended his message by saying: “Now is the time to wish Portugal and all my team-mates in the national team, without exception, the best of luck.”
