Rumour Mills: Cagliari intensifies efforts to sign Cyriel Dessers

By Wale Mustapha

Italian Serie A side Cagliari are ramping up their efforts to secure the signing of Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers from Glasgow Rangers, according to reports from Nigeriafootball.ng.

Cagliari are urgently looking to strengthen their attack in the current transfer window, with Dessers emerging as one of their key targets.

However, they face potential competition from fellow Serie A club Empoli, who have also expressed interest in the Super Eagles forward.

The 30-year-old Dessers, who has struggled for consistent playing time at Rangers due to the rise of Hamza Igamane, may be looking to move in search of more regular first-team opportunities before the winter transfer window closes.

Dessers showcased his quality once again with a stunning goal in Rangers’ dramatic 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

This season, he has been in excellent form, scoring 17 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions for the Light Blues.
