Super Falcons must show the right attitude to beat Canada – Tijani Babangida
By Saheed Afolabi
Nigeria former international Tijani Babangida says the country will triumph over Canada if they play with the right attitude in their FIFA Women’s World Cup opening match on Friday July 21.
The Super Falcons encounter against the Canadians to open their ninth Women’s World Cup campaign and the attacker feels Randy Waldrum’s side have the quality to achieve positive result.
“Canada are a very quality team but they will equally face a more composed and compact side in Super Falcons on Friday,” Babaginda told Complete Sports.
“We have players who are playing in some of the top clubs in Europe and are exposed to the reality of playing top players in their respective clubs. So I don’t think Canada will have any edge over Nigeria.
“This is a game I believe the Super Falcons can win if they play with a determine heart and mind.”
The nine-time African champions will engage Australia and Republic of Ireland in their other group stage matches.
