Bologna coach Mihajlovic back in training leukemia treatment
Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has returned to training days after he was released from the hospital for leukemia treatment.
Mihajlovic was initially diagnosed with the illness in July 2019 and recovered following chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. There were signs in his blood tests that the leukemia was returning, so he went back into the Sant’Orsola clinic for six weeks of further treatment.
Today was his first day back at the training ground with his Bologna players and they celebrated with a special barbecue open-air lunch with everyone together.
Mihajlovic kept in constant touch with his staff from the hospital and Bologna are unbeaten since this second stage of treatment began.
The squad also visited under his hospital window last week, in which he congratulated them for the comeback Serie A victory over Inter.
