Venezia linked with Valerenga winger Promise Meliga Jr.

Nigerian winger Promise Meliga Jr. is the subject of a transfer rumour linking him with a move from Valerenga to Venezia in Serie A.

Meliga, 18, has made nine Eliteserien appearances for Valerenga this season, scoring three goals. He has also featured once in the NM-Cup.

The right winger joined Valerenga from Remo Stars Youth Academy in August 2025 and spent part of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Kristiansund BK. That loan ended in July, with the player returning to Valerenga.

Meliga’s current contract with the Norwegian club runs until 31 December 2029. He is listed as a right winger and is left-footed.

The proposed move would take him from Norway’s Eliteserien to Italy’s top flight, although the rumour does not include a transfer fee or a probability of completion. There has been no confirmation that an agreement has been reached between the clubs or with the player.

Meliga previously won the Viareggio tournament with Remo Stars FC Youth Academy during the 2023-24 season.
