Minister of Sports, Senator John Enoh is upbeat about Nigeria chances at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia later this month.

The Falconets wrapped up their intense camping in Abuja as they jetted out of the country on Saturday as they face Korea Republic, Venezuela and Germany in the group stage.

Enoh has backed the team to surpass the previous records of their predecessors, expressing optimistic the Falconets won’t disappoint Nigerians when they take to the pitch.

“Your predecessors have done well reaching the final of the competition on two occasions and making the semifinals once. It is now time for you to take our country further by winning the trophy,” Enoh said in a released statement to the Falconets.

“The Government and the people of this great country are with you, and I am confident that you will not disappoint.”

Nigeria will embark on another rigorous two weeks camping program in Colombia before the start of the tournament on 31st of August to September 22nd.

The Falconets are drawn in group D alongside former champions, Germany, Venezuela, and South Korea.
