Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface is hopeful the German club will replicate their unbeaten status in the Bundesliga last season once more.

Leverkusen won the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal last season while setting an unbeaten record in the process.

Boniface said Leverkusen will be taking it one at a time this season while their immediate priority is to win the Super Cup and be in a competitive shape ahead of the new season.

He admitted his side won’t find it easy next season as other clubs will work on how to stop them from replicating success.

“The funniest thing is that we have not had a conversation about next season yet. But one thing I noticed about this team is that we take things step by step,” Boniface was quoted by the Counter attack podcast.

“Right now, we have the Super Cup final against Stuttgart, but no one is talking about it. Everybody’s focus is on the friendly games against Arsenal and Lens, so everyone is focused on those games.

“We go game by game. But in the back if our mind, we know that everyone will want to beat us because of what we achieved last season and it’s not going to be easy.

“We know what we did last year, what we gave to the fans and what we gave to the club. The feeling was so good, and each of us want to have that same feeling again next season. we achieved last season.

“We enjoyed what happened, how we made history and were celebrated by the club. And everyone that witnessed it wants to witness more. I’m ready to give 100 percent to achieve what we achieved last year, and I’m sure it’s the same for the rest of the players.”

Boniface was awarded Bundesliga Rookie of the 2023/2024 season.
