Wafu B U20 Cup: Flying Eagles thrash Ivory Coast, setup semifinal clash with Niger

The Nigeria men’s U20 team, overcame their initial setbacks by defeating Ivory Coast 2-1, securing their place in the semifinals of the WAFU B U20 Cup on Wednesday.

In a thrilling match, the Flying Eagles came from behind to claim victory, thanks to goals from Beyond Limits striker Kparobo Arierhi and Enyimba International playmaker Clinton Jephta.

With this win, Burkina Faso was eliminated from the tournament, while Ivory Coast advanced to the semifinals despite the loss.

Nigeria will now face Niger in the semifinals, while Ghana will take on Ivory Coast in the other semifinal match.

The Flying Eagles are the defending champions, having won the 2022 edition by defeating Benin Republic 3-1 in the final.

The winner of the WAFU B zonal championship will qualify for the 2025 U20 AFCON, with the semifinalists guaranteed a spot at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.
