Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye attributed Udinese’s first Serie A defeat of the season to team errors following a 3-0 loss to AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
This Serie A match marked the first time Okoye conceded three goals in a single Italian top-flight game this campaign.
Expressing his disappointment, Okoye emphasized the need for the team to regroup and refocus.
“We started the season well, but today was a difficult match. We played against a great team. Today we lacked a bit of movement and communication, but now we immediately focus on the Coppa Italia and Inter on Saturday,” he said.
He acknowledged the disappointment but encouraged his teammates to look ahead.
“We are disappointed, but we must immediately look forward. Salernitana and Inter are two great opportunities; we must stay focused,” he added.
