Yaro Yaro refuses to abandon Pillars’ continental dreams despite Plateau United loss

By Wale Mustapha

Kano Pillars coach, Ahmed Garba, remains optimistic about his side’s chances of securing a continental spot, despite suffering a 2-1 defeat to Plateau United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash on Saturday.

The Pyramids Boys initially took the lead in the first half through Jerry Alex, following a well-executed team buildup.

However, Plateau United mounted a strong comeback with goals from Pam Samuel and Gafar Saka, securing all three points.

The loss saw Pillars drop to eighth position on the league table, but Yaro Yaro as his fondly called, refused to lose faith in his team’s pursuit of a continental berth.

“It was a painful defeat, especially considering how well we controlled the game from start to finish,” Garba said.

“However, with the current fair performance of match officials, I am still confident that we can secure one of the three continental slots by the end of the season,” he added, as quoted by the club’s media.

Despite the setback, Garba’s determination to keep Pillars’ continental dreams alive signals that the team will continue to fight for a top position in the NPFL.
