2023/24 NPFL MD11 Wrap: Kano Pillars crush Gombe as Remo beat Plateau to go top

Yusuf Abdullahi scored five goals to lead Kano Pillars to a 5-2 win against Gombe United at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe State as Matchday 11 of the Nigeria Premier Football League continued with four games on Sunday.
Six of the seven goals scored during the match came in the first half with Sadiq Shuaibu and Ahmed Jimoh converting two goals for the hosts.
In Ikenne, Remo Stars moved to the top of the table after a 1-0 win over Plateau United thanks to Alimi Sikiru’s 61st-minute goal.
In Lagos, Clement Naantaum’s 13th-minute strike lifted Sporting Lagos to a 1-0 win against Katsina United.
The contest between relegation-threatened Bayelsa United and Abia Warriors ended in a 2-2 draw.
Robert Mizo bagged a brace for the host at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenegoa while Samson Bossa Obi and Ibrahim Dehinde scored for the visitors.
In Ibadan, Shooting Stars and Heartland FC settled for a 0-0 draw.
The game between Enugu Rangers and Rivers United was postponed due to the latter’s continental engagement in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Four games took place on Saturday with Doma United, Bendel Insurance, and Enyimba picking a 1-0 win at home against Niger Tornadoes, Lobi Stars, and Sunshine Stars.
Remo Stars moved to the top of the log with 22 points, a point ahead of Doma United.
Lobi Stars (20 points) and Enyimba FC (19 points) complete the top four teams.
At the bottom of the table, Heartland FC (7 points), Bayelsa United (10 points), Niger Tornadoes (11 points), and Akwa United (11 points) occupy the last four places.
