Mas-Ud Didi names 32-man roster for CHAN Eagles

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Head Coach of the Ghana home-based national team (Black Galaxies), Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has named a 32-man squad for the upcoming pre-CHAN qualifiers training camp ahead of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria.

The camp will run from Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Ghanaian Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram as the team gears up for a crucial two-legged qualifier against Nigeria in December.

The camping will see the players undergo intensive training, which will include tactical drills, fitness sessions, and training matches.

After the second week of camping between December 1-5, the team will break camp for the National elections and resume camping from December 8.
Ghana will host the first leg on Saturday, December 21, 2024, with the return leg scheduled to be played between December 27, 2024.

Ghana defeated Nigeria in the qualifiers to advance to the 2023 CHAN tournament, and Coach Dramani’s side will be looking to build on this and ensure qualification to the 2025 CHAN tournament, which will be staged in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

Nigeria, this time around, is under the tutelage of former international Augustine Eguavoen, who led the team to the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification.

The team has qualified for CHAN on three occasions, with a bronze medal in their maiden appearance under the late Stephen Keshi.

They last reached the final during their last appearance.

The team has not qualified for the last two editions of the tournament.
