2025 President Federation Cup: Kindness Ifeanyi Leads Bayelsa Queens to Round of 16

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Winger Kindness Ifeanyi propelled her team, Bayelsa Queens, into the round of 16 of the Women’s President Federation Cup with a remarkable double that secured a 2-1 victory over Naija Ratels on Saturday.

Ifeanyi found the net twice, scoring in the 24th and 58th minutes. Although Naija Ratels managed to narrow the scoreline in the 85th minute with a goal from Salisu Grace, the match concluded with a 2-1 score in favour of Bayelsa Queens.

Since joining the club, Kindness Ifeanyi has consistently demonstrated exceptional form for the Prosperity Girls.

Technical Adviser Whyte Ogbonda expressed his delight at the win and praised his players’ performance. “Considering we faced a strong opponent from the NWFL, unlike others who competed against championship teams, I am pleased with both their performance and the outcome,” he stated.

Ogbonda also acknowledged the support from the Bayelsa State Government, which has been a significant motivator for the club, and thanked Chairman Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala for allowing the technical staff the freedom to operate effectively.

Looking ahead, Bayelsa Queens will host Benue Queens on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in a matchday 11 fixture at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.
