President Federation Cup Finalists Involved in Road Accident

Finalists of the 2025 President Federation Cup, Abakaliki FC, were involved in a road accident on their return journey to Ebonyi State following their defeat to Kwara United in the tournament’s grand finale.

The incident occurred along the Ore route.

According to reports, several club officials were onboard when the accident happened. Fortunately, no lives were lost.

Despite the unfortunate event, the team has since returned home safely.

The defeat to Kwara United also meant Abakaliki FC missed out on a spot in continental football, as Kwara United secured the slot with their victory.

Meanwhile, newly crowned President Federation Cup champions, Kwara United, are scheduled to return to Ilorin on Monday.

Celebrations are expected to follow, with a trophy parade planned across major parts of the Kwara State capital.
