Nigeria’s U-17 Women’s National Team stepped up their build-up to the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco with two wins in friendly matches on Wednesday, September 17, at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja.
In the first encounter, the Flamingos secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Eagle’s Wing U13 Boys. Fatimoh Shuaib scored the decisive goal early on, finishing neatly after a fine exchange with Tabitha Terlumu.
Despite late pressure from their opponents, goalkeeper Elizabeth Boniface and her defence stood firm to preserve the clean sheet.
Later in the day, the team returned for their second fixture, delivering a more commanding display in a 3–0 win against Harmony FA U13 Boys. Zainab Raji opened the scoring after capitalising on a defensive error, before Olamide Olanrewaju doubled the lead with a close-range finish.
Substitute Favour Etim made an immediate impact off the bench, adding a third goal to complete the victory.
The only blemish came when Terlumu saw her penalty saved.
The two results underline both the resilience and attacking sharpness of Bankole Olowookere’s squad, with all invited players currently in camp as preparations intensify for the tournament.
The Flamingos are drawn in Group D at the World Cup, where they will face Canada, France, and Samoa between October 17 and November 8 in Morocco.
