Michelle Alozie shortlisted for 2025 FIFPRO Women’s World XI

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria defender Michelle Alozie has been shortlisted for the 2025 FIFPRO Women’s World XI, becoming the only Nigerian to make the prestigious global list.

The final lineup will be revealed on November 3, 2025, as football fans and professionals around the world await the announcement of the year’s standout performers in women’s football.

Alozie’s nomination comes as a testament to her consistent performances, defensive solidity, and leadership qualities, which have earned her growing recognition on the international stage.

Notably, other prominent Super Falcons stars — including Chiamaka Nnadozie, Esther Okoronkwo, and Rasheedat Ajibade — missed out on this year’s shortlist, making Alozie’s selection even more significant.

Nnadozie made the cut for the goalkeeping category last year.

Her inclusion marks a proud moment for Nigeria and African football, underlining the Super Falcons’ continued presence among the elite in the women’s game.
