Katsina United president Surajo Umar has voiced his ambition for the club to secure a continental competition spot at the conclusion of the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Chanji Boys currently sit 10th on the NPFL table with 16 points, recording five wins, one draw, and five losses so far. Their most recent outing ended in a 1–1 draw against Shooting Stars in Ibadan last Sunday.
Umar praised the team for their resilience, emphasizing that earning a continental ticket would mark a remarkable season for the club.
“First, we thank Almighty Allah for the point, and I must commend my team for their fighting spirit from the start of the game to the end of the match,” Umar told the club’s media team.
“We are moving gradually on the table, and I hope we can secure one of the continental slots this season.”
Katsina United will look to build on their current form when they host Barau FC this weekend at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
