Super Eagles Spread Christmas Cheer from AFCON Camp in Morocco
The Nigeria’s senior men’s national team brought festive cheer to fans back home as they marked the Christmas celebrations from their training base in Morocco during the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Fresh from a hard-earned 2–1 victory over Tanzania in their opening group match—secured through goals from Semi Ajayi and Ademola Lookman—the Nigerian squad took a moment to share a light-hearted Christmas message despite the intensity of tournament football.
In a video shared across social media platforms, several players, including Victor Osimhen, Raphael Onyedika, Chigozie Awaziem, Stanley Nwabali, and captain Wilfred Ndidi, appeared in high spirits as they delivered warm Christmas greetings to Nigerians.
Members of the coaching crew were also featured in the clip, with head coach Eric Chelle joined by assistants Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogunmodede, underlining the strong sense of unity and togetherness within the Super Eagles camp.
The festive message offered fans a glimpse of the players’ relaxed and human side away from the pressures of AFCON competition, as smiles, laughter, and goodwill filled the screen.
Nigerian supporters responded enthusiastically online, praising the gesture and drawing inspiration from the team’s bond as they continue their pursuit of continental glory.
The Super Eagles will return to competitive action on Saturday, when they face the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in a top-of-the-table Group C encounter.
