Enyimba Thrash Shooting Stars as Rivers United, Kano Pillars Shine on NPFL Matchday 19

Enyimba International delivered a statement performance on Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 19, cruising to a dominant 3–0 victory over Shooting Stars Sports Club in Aba on Sunday.

Playing before their home fans at the Enyimba International Stadium, the People’s Elephant controlled proceedings from start to finish. Goals from Chinedu Ufere, Edidiong Ezekiel, and Chidera Michael sealed a comprehensive win and underlined Enyimba’s growing momentum as the season progresses.

In Port Harcourt, league leaders Rivers United continued their impressive run with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Rangers International. Boluwaji Sholumade struck eight minutes into the second half to hand the Pride of Rivers another vital three points and maintain their grip at the top of the table.

At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United suffered a setback on home soil, falling 1–0 to Abia Warriors. A 68th-minute goal from Taheer Abubakar proved decisive as the visitors left Jos with maximum points.

Katsina United celebrated their first away win of the season after edging Kun Khalifat 1–0 in Owerri. Richard Christopher’s well-timed strike six minutes before halftime secured a morale-boosting victory for the Changi Boys.

There was also away success for El Kanemi Warriors, who claimed a narrow 1–0 win against Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa. Sadiq Mohammed’s effort was enough to earn the Maiduguri-based side all three points.

In Minna, Niger Tornadoes impressed with a solid 2–0 victory over Barau FC at the Bako Kontagora Stadium. Goals from Abdulaziz Dalhatu and Rickson Mendos ensured a comfortable afternoon for the hosts.

Fans in Ozoro were treated to an entertaining contest as Warri Wolves and Wikki Tourists played out a thrilling 2–2 draw. Imamu Bala gave Wikki the lead just before halftime, but Ezekiel Oroh equalised early in the second half. Seth Mayi then put Warri Wolves ahead before Bala completed his brace to restore parity with 14 minutes remaining.

To round off the Matchday 19 fixtures, Kano Pillars produced a commanding display, dispatching Nasarawa United 3–0 in a convincing home win.

With emphatic victories, crucial away wins, and tightly contested encounters, Matchday 19 delivered plenty of drama and further reshaped the NPFL standings as the title race and survival battles intensify.
